“Today I choose you and tomorrow I choose you too.”

As I continue to negotiate moving in this injured body, I have created resting places for me to lie in. This photo from my installation from LATITUDE Chicago in February 2026 is meant to be a loud-quiet, dark-bright, escape-enclosure. I enjoyed lying in it, dancing in it, sitting quietly with others with the lights on and off.
If you want to buy a print of my work during that installation, LATITUDE is doing a fundraiser sale that you can purchase via this page. If you buy a print, you can continue to support their artist in residence program that gave me a studio space for a month when I started to feel all the compartments in my life collapsing into one tightly wound ball.
As much as I romanticize life, I have felt the harshness of rejection. I want to be chosen in a non-pretentious non-verbal way. This is probably why I cherish my friends so much; within people I trust I feel a whole hearted sense of belonging that feels real compared to the artifice of checking boxes off a common interest/experience list.

If you want to view all the rest of the prints in the fundraiser, you can head to LATITUDE Chicago at 2003 W Fulton St, #211, Chicago, IL 60612 until December 2026.
